Discovery Lab
Discovery Lab events at the museum typically focus on middle and high school age participants and will cover a wide range of STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics - topics with an emphasis on hands-on exploration. Keep an eye on the newsletter and this page for workshops, open work times, and other opportunities!
Interested in learning how to program? Already have some experience but want to try new things and build your skills even more?
We'll be gathering weekly on Tuesdays 6-8PM in the OhioHealth Community Classroom at the Ohio Valley Museum of Discovery to explore computer programming. The open-workshop format will be appropriate for both beginners and more experienced programmers. The first gathering is Tuesday, June 18, and we'll meet weekly through Tuesday, August 13. Drop in for one session or come for them all! The opportunity is open to rising 6th through 12th graders.
The program is FREE thanks to the generosity of the Infosys Foundation USA. We'll have laptops on hand (special thanks to the IMPACT Grant from the Voinivich School for our Laptop Lab!) but you’re welcome to bring your own if you have one.
