Dr. Hines-Bergmeier is a co-founder of OVMoD and current co-president of the board. She is a Professor of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Ohio University where she teaches Organic and Medicinal Chemistry. She has over 50 research publications and has received over $2million in grant funding for her research targeting RNA to develop new antiviral and antibacterial medicines. She brings to the board a life-long passion for science public engagement with 20+ years of experience at hands-on museums. Dr. Hines-Bergmeier has a B.A. in Chemistry with an Art History minor from Oberlin College, a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Michigan and was a postdoctoral fellow in the College of Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley.
